Profile

During my 14 years of practicing, studying and guiding fellow yogis, I have qualified in many different aspects of Yoga.

Yoga and I have been flirting with each other many years. In 1999 I was working in a corporate environment when I was first introduced to Yoga from a colleague who was always following the latest celebrity trends. Her enthusiasm encouraged me to start practicing and I started a six week beginners’ course. It’s funny what you ‘think’ Yoga is; at the time all I could think about was that I might end up at a class where everyone would be putting their legs behind their heads!

Yoga disappeared from my life for a period of time, whilst I studied for my Masters. Luckily for me, Yoga classes were introduced to my Company and this is where my love affair with Yoga was reunited in 2001. The rest, they say, is history.

As my relationship with Yoga developed I was able to try out different styles of yoga until I found the ones that resonated with me, and I gravitated to the more dynamic and flow yoga styles. Becoming Yoga hungry, I wanted to know more about the history of yoga and embarked on a Teacher Training course with Triyoga, Europe’s leading Yoga Studio. While studying at Triyoga I studied traditional meditation and philosophy under Carlos Pomeda.

I’ve always had an interest in how the brain operates, and at the same time of developing my Yoga teaching skills I went on to study (NLP) Neuro Linguistic Programming and became a Master Practitioner and Hypnosis. I enjoy incorporating some of these techniques within my one to one classes.

As the latest hot yoga adaptation came to the UK I discovered Bikram Yoga in 2009, which I truly adore. As luck would have it, in 2012 when the opportunity came for me to take off for nine weeks to LA to complete a teacher training course I was ready and jumped at the chance.

After completing the training and with my certification to teach I spent many happy months teaching in New York and Texas.

I strongly advocate the practice of Yoga both on and off the mat, and that yoga is for everybody and every body!
